Chris Williamson likes tweet referencing ‘£1m Israeli bounty’ for Corbyn critics

LFI's director condemned the suspended Labour MP for helping to 'propagate repeatedly denied utter lies', adding that he's 'unfit' to be a member of the House of Commons

Suspended Labour MP Chris Williamson faces calls to resign after his official Twitter account liked a post claiming Israel offered a “1m bounty for Labour insiders to undermine Jeremy Corbyn.” 
 
The post, sent by activist and blogger Nadeem Ahmed, accessible to Williamson’s 52.1K followers, appears in the “favourites” tab of his profile.

“Let’s not forget that Israel have offered a £1m bounty for Labour insiders to undermine Jeremy Corbyn,” it reads.

“Joan Ryan was filmed asking Shai Masot about a list of names that were sent to the Israeli embassy.

“We need an investigation into this and find the MPs that took the money.”

LFI director Jennifer Gerber said: “Chris Williamson’s decision to help propagate these repeatedly denied utter lies demonstrates once again not simply that he shouldn’t sit as a Labour MP but that he’s unfit to be a member of the House of Commons.

“If Jeremy Corbyn allows the whip to be restored it will underline his continuing utter disregard for the Jewish community and the truth.”

Barnet Young Labour disability officer Luisa Attfield wrote: “This tweet liked by Chris Williamson is a totally normal thing for an MP to like, with absolutely no racist undertones.
“He needs to be expelled.”

A 2017 Al Jazeera report claimed that the former Israeli embassy official Shai Masot attempted to “take down” British lawmakers seen as unfriendly to Israel.

Schiff Iffy On Impeachment Despite Saying Trump’s Actions ‘Worse’ Than Nixon’s

T2 Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh dies after shooting

  A man who starred as a gangland figure in Trainspotting 2 has been shot dead in Edinburgh. Bradley Welsh, 47, who also appeared in an episode of Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men, was killed in an incident in Chester Street. Armed officers were sent to the city's west end at about 20:00 on Wednesday. One resident said he was told someone had been shot in the head and people were instructed to stay indoors as the street was cordoned off. Police later confirmed officers had responded to reports of a disturbance and that a seriously injured man died at the scene.
